NO CHILD SHOULD BE LEFT BEHIND
I'm a sociologist and data analyst in training. I am working everyday to help build a better future for our next generation. My belief is that every child and teenager should have the right to enjoy equal education, quality healthcare, and safe community.
OUR KIDS
Working for Left-behind Children in Rural China
They are children who are left behind in poverty-ridden rural areas of China by their parents who migrate to make a living in the cities. They are like every other child in this world, craving for love and yearning for care. Yet, many of them are having physical and mental issues. UNICEF 2018 Annual Report claims there are approximately 69 million children left behind by one or both of their parents due to migration in China, which is equivalent to thirty percent of the children in rural area. They are also our kids. They also deserve love and care and a safe place to grow. I am working every day to help left-behind children in our nation live safer and healthier.

THE SOCIO-ECOLOGICAL FACTORS ON DELINQUENCY OF THE LEFT-BEHIND YOUTHS IN RURAL CHINA
This study discusses the influence of the socio-ecological factors on the delinquent behaviors of those adolescents who were left behind by their migrant-worker parents using cross-sectional school-based survey data, aiming to apply the well-developed social disorganization theory to China’s insufficiently investigated rural areas.

THE FORMATION OF A COLLECTIVE IDENTITY AMONG RESIDENTS IN GUANGZHOU’S URBAN VILLAGES
Method(s): Individual-based interviews in Guangzhou’s two urban villages
Result(s): Urban villagers formed a collective identity because of China’s housing registration system that restricted their access to social resources (strain theory), and the difficulty assimilating into the mainstream society (segmented assimilation theory).
